Jasmine picked up basketball at the age of 11 and her sister, Juliana did the same when she was just 7. While Jasmine started her athletic life with competitive dance, Juliana has been a lover of all sports since she could walk. Both took their different skills and paths and uniqueness to a game that cherishes just that: basketball.

While playing for an AAU team, their parents were driving them to practices, tournaments, and clinics all over Long Island, where they call home, and up and down the east coast as well. At these tournaments they would see the same basketball bag over and over. But basketball is about your own style - our girls would wear funky socks, some girls would have cool headbands, everyone loves sneakers. So Jasmine wanted to make her own bag and asked her parents to help.

Jacquie and Jason, the parents of the two beautiful ballers, have experience in taking an idea and turning it into a business. They needed better headphones for children and founded LilGadgets, completely changing the headphone market for kids. They needed a better sleep training clock so they worked with Stephanie and Dennis, their in-laws, to develop Little Hippo.

So when Jasmine mentioned she wanted to try her creative hand at making better bags, they couldn’t say no.
